Mouna Guru is an intriguing thriller that is filled with twists and turns. It is a welcome relief from the countless crass commercial entertainers.

Debutant Director Santha Kumar deserves praise for making a taut thriller that retains the suspense till the very end.

Karunakaran joins a college in Chennai but he is soon drawn into mysterious circumstances involving high ranking police officers. Arulnithi has given an incredible performance and steals the show with his underplayed performance. He has got the much needed break in Kollywood. Iniya, who performed brilliantly in “Vaagai Sooda Vaa” has little scope to perform but is flawless in her role. Thaman’s music is quite apt for the movie and the songs gel well with flow the of the movie.

John Vijay is splendid in the role of the opponent.

The Dam 999 Movie director has said that once the film is released, the Tamil Nadu government will realize the peril that this dam would cause to the Tamilians and would agree to construct a new dam after demolishing the existing one.

The story revolves around a hundred year old dam and populace living around it. The movie raises the environmental issues that are caused by the construction of dam and how it affects the inhabitants in that area.

The protest against the film was due to the fact that director Sohan Roy has based this film on the controversial Mullai Periyar Dam. Hence many feared that this film will cause the rift with Tamils and keralas

AR Murugadoss first production venture Engeyum Eppodhum has a similar concept in which director Saravanan has fabricated a love tale.

Engeyum Eppodhum movie is engaging, entertaining and has a message. Sharwanand as an urban lad has done his best. His mannerisms and attitude in the film are acceptable and his act during his first encounter with Ananya is entertaining. Anjali is cute and her innocence attracts the audience throughout the film. Jai steals the show with his wonderful performance. Indeed, he gets the maximum marks among four.

Cinematography by Velraj is good, music by Sathya is not up to the mark. But his background score is impressive, editor Anthony could have mercilessly chopped some scenes in the first half of the film, as it drags at parts.
Director Sarvanan, who has done a decent job in his first attempt. Indeed, he has lived up to the audience’s expectations. His screenplay is excellent except a few minor mistakes. Nonetheless, he is a newcomer and those errors could be avoided.

At recently held Mankatha success bash, Actress Sona Heiden has alleged that SPB Charan, the son of legendary singer SP Balasubramanyam, has misbehaved with her.

Venkat Prabhu and Premji are my best friends in the Tamil film industry and you will often find me in their gang. I was invited for a party, which was the bash to celebrate the success of Mankatha held at actor Vaibhav’s house. While I was standing alone, he came to me and daringly ****** Soon Premji entered the scene and SPB asked sorry for his misbehaviour.

Venkat Prabhu sensed that I was in danger and rushed to where I was standing. The Mankatha director dragged him and fought with the singer.

I want justice and I am planning to lodge a complaint against him. And also I am giving SPB Charan 10 days time to ask me apology in public
